Answer:

a) 2 pb(no3)2--> 2pbo + 4 no2 + o2

b) catenation and tetravalency

catenation means carbon combining with carbon to form long chain and tetravalency means it can combine with other elements to form different compounds

c) when sulphuric acid is added to sodium chloride, gas evolves which is HCL gas. test this gas with dry litmus paper, there will be no change. now test it with wet litmus paper, it will change from blue to red. this shows that acid produces ions only in aqueous solution.

Answer:

Heat a pinch of solid NaCl with some concentrated Sulphuric acid in a clean and dry test tube. Test the gas (HCl) evolved with dry litmus paper. No change in colour takes place. Now, pass the gas through blue litmus solution. It will turn, Red.

This is because, in aqueous solution, HCl gas dissociates into ions and thus, H+ ions are produced. which turn, Blue litmus solution, to red.
