QUESTION:-

A ball 50g is moving with the Velocity of 25m/s after 2 minute's it will come into rest Find the force applied on it and also the find the initial and Final momentum

EXPLANATION:-

(i)Calculating force applied

We know that,

F=ma

Where,

F=force

m=mass

a=acceleration

In the this question:-

  • Mass=50 g=50/1000 kg
  • Acceleration=Not given
  • Final velocity=0 m/s  [AS BALL STOPS]
  • Initial velocity=25 m/s
  • Time=2 minutes=120 sec

Let's calculate the acc.

a=(v-u)/t

a=(0-25)/120

a=-5/24

So the acc. is -5/24 .Now we can calculate the force using,

F=ma

F=50/1000×-5/24

F=-5/240

F=-1/96 N

So the force  exerted will be -1/96 N

----------------------------------------------

(ii)Calculating the final and initial momentum:-

Initial momentum=mu

                            =50/1000×25

                            = 5/4

 Initial momentum=1.25 kg m/s

Final momentum=mv

                            =50/1000×0

Final momentum=0 kg m/s
