The correct answer is option (1) 2000 m.

Given,

A ball is dropped from a height of 1,000 m. After every collision, the ball attains half of its actual height.

To Find,

The total distance traveled by the ball.

Solution,

The height from which the ball is dropped is 1000 m.

Now, after every collision, it attains half of its actual height.

So, the height of the ball after every collision will be

h, h/2, h/4, h/8,...

This sequence forms a G.P

So, using the formula of sum of G.P

S = (h/1-1/2) = 2h

S = 2h = 2*1000 = 2000 m

Hence, the distance traveled by the ball is 2000 m.
