A ball is dropped from a height of 125m and it falls on heap of sand

a= g= 10 m/sec^2 (since it is vertical motion)
Vi= 0 (before dropping it was at rest in someone’s hand)

Solution:
we could take 2*a*S= Vf^2- Vi^2 but Vf is not given
therefore we use S= Vi*t+ 0.5*a*t^2
or h= Vi*t+ 0.5*g*t^2
125= 0*t+ 0.5*10*t^2
125= 0+ 5*t^2
125= 5*t^2
125/ 5= t^2
25= t^2
t= 5 sec

Object will take 5 sec to fall.
