A ball is dropped from a height of 5 m onto a sandy floor and penetrates the sand up to 10 cm before coming to rest.Find the retardation of the sand assuming it to be uniform ?

Retardation=- accerlation
Means in which accerlation decrease at last become at rest.
So when ball hit sand It was in 10m/s
But after this Velocity decreases to be at 0m/s
So you have to find retardation .
Answer=-500 m/s²
