since ball is dropped its initial velocity is 0 i.e. u = 0 m/s²

s = 40 - 20 = 20 m

a = g = 10 m/s²

we know that

v²= u² + 2as

v²= 0 + 2(20)(10)

v² = 400

v =  \sqrt{400}

v = 20

NOOBSCIENCESTUDENT: u should mention value of g.. n if this question is from any enterance booklet then they mostly take g= 10
NOOBSCIENCESTUDENT: happy
raubinpatel: Ya
raubinpatel: Then what will be the velocity of ball at the time of hitting the ground
raubinpatel: Plz give me answer
NOOBSCIENCESTUDENT: take displacement as 40 you will get answer lol
NOOBSCIENCESTUDENT: so v² = 0 + 2(10)(40)
NOOBSCIENCESTUDENT: v² = (2)(100)(4)
NOOBSCIENCESTUDENT: v = √2 (100)(4)
NOOBSCIENCESTUDENT: v = 20√2
