so total time to reach the well lower most point is

by the formula s=ut +1/2 gt^2

44.1=0 + \frac{1}{2} × 9.8 × t^2

\frac{44.1×2}{9.8} = t^2

9 = t^2

\sqrt{9} = \sqrt{t^2}

t = 3

so time take to reach there is 3 sec now the time taken by sound to reach the ears is

3.13s - 3s = 0.13s

speed=\frac{distance}{time}

speed = \frac{44.1}{0.13}

speed = 339.23 \:ms^{-1}
