A ball is dropped on to a horizontal plate from a height h = 9m above it. If the coefficient of restitution is e = 1/2, the total distance travelled before the ball comes to rest is 3n Meyer. Find n.

For an object bouncing off a stationary object, such as a floor, coefficient of restitution, e = √(h'/h)
               1/2 = √(3n/9)
               1/4 = n/3

   so           n = 3/4
