Answer:

A ball is projected at an angle 45

with horizontal from a point on ground 10m away from a vertical wall. It just crosses the wall to land on the ground at a distance 40m from the wall on other side. Then the height of the wall is:

Answer:

The velocity of the projection  = 10 m/s

Explanation:

It is given to us that :

The horizontal range = 10m

and the angle of projection = 45°

We know that,

The range of a projectile, R = \frac{u^{2} sin 2a}{g}

where, u = initial velocity

a = angle of projection

g = acceleration due to gravity.

according to the question,

10 = (u² x sin 90°) / 10    {considering g = 10 m/s²}

or, 100 = u²

or, u = \sqrt{100\\} = 10 m/s

Therefore, the velocity of the projection  = 10 m/s

Range of a projectile :

It is basically the displacement done by the body in a particular horizontal direction.
