Given that,

  • Velocity of the ball = 10 m/s (u)
  • Final velocity = 0 (zero) (v)
  • Time taken for the ball to reach it's maximum height = ?
  • Value of g = 10 m/s^2

By applying first equation of motion,

  • v = u - gt
  • 0 = 10 m/s - 10 m/s^2 × t
  • 10 m/s^2 × t = 10 m/s
  • t = 10 m/s / 10 m/s^2
  • t = 1 sec.

Therefore, the time take for the ball to reach it's maximum height is 1 second.
