Speed just before reaching the ground = √u² + 2gh.

=> v = √u² + 2gh

=> v = √5² + 2(10)(20)

=> v = √(25 + 400)

=> v = √425

=> v ≈ 20.61 m/s

Total time taken = (u/g) [1 + √(1 + 2hg/u²)]

= (20/10) [1 + √(1 + 2*20*10/5²)]

= 2[1 + √(1 + 5/4)]

= 2[1 + 3/2]

= 5 sec
