The distance traveled by the ball in the first 6 seconds is 480 m.

Given,

A ball is projected vertically with a velocity of 50 m/s.

To Find,

The distance traveled by the ball in the first 6 seconds.

Solution,

Using the equation of motion

S = ut + 1/2at²

where

S is the distance traveled

u is the initial velocity = 50 m/s

t = time taken = 6 sec

a = g( acceleration due to gravity) = 10 m/s²

S = (50)(6) + 1/2(10)(6)(6)

S = 300+5*36

S = 480 m

Hence, the distance traveled by the ball in the first 6 seconds is 480 m.
