Answer:

The initial vertical velocity is 20sin30°=10m/s. The time to reach highest point (vertical velocity 0) = 10m/s/g = approx 1s. The time it takes to reach the ground with vertical velocity -10m/s is also approx 1s. So the ball strikes the ground 2 seconds after launch.

Given   A ball is projected with a speed 20m/s at an angle of 30°with the ground.

To Find : It will reach the topmost point in how much time ?

Solution:

ball is projected with a speed 20m/s at an angle of 30°with the ground.

Hence Vertical speed = 20 sin30°

= 20 (1/2)

= 10  m/s

At top most point vertical velocity will be zero

V  = U + at

U = 10 m/s

V = 0  m/s

a  = -g = - 10 m/s²

t = ?

0 = 10 + (-10)t

=> t = 1

Hence  It will reach the topmost point in 1 sec

Correct option is  b) 1 s
