A ball is projected with an initial upward velocity component of 30m/s and a horizontal velocity component of 25m/s. (a) Find the position and velocity of the ball after 3s (b) How much time is required to reach the highest point? (c) How high is this point? (d) How much time is required for the ball to return to its original level? (e) How far has it traveled horizontally during this time?

Explanation:

(a) V =u+at

V y =30 + (- 10)3= 30-30=0m/s

Velocity after 3s = √(25i) ^2+ 0= 25m/s

Sy = 0*3+1/2(-10)(3)(3)= -45m

Sx= 25*3=75m

(b) t= 30/10= 3s

(c) H= 30*30/2(-10)= 45m

(d) T=2t=3*2=6s

(e) R= 30*25*2/10= 150m
