Question explained ↨.

  • Initial Velocity =u=10 m/s.

  • Final Velocity =v=0

  • a= -10 m/s2

a)What will be the height attend by the

ball

The concept from newton 3rd law !

v=0

u=10m/s

v²=u²-2as

0=10²-2×10×s

20s=100

S=5m

b)How much time will it take to reach there.

The concept from newton first law !

v=u+at

0=10+(-10)t

=t=1 seconds

EXPLANATION.

A ball is thrown in a vertically upward direction

with a velocity = 10 m/s.

the acceleration of the ball during it's motion

=> 10 m/s² in the downward.

According to the question,

=> initial Velocity = u = 10 m/s.

=> final velocity = v = 0

=> a = -10 m/s² [ Downward ]

1) = what will be the height attend

by the ball.

From newton third equation of

kinematics.

=> v² = u² + 2as

=> 0 = ( 10)² + 2 ( -10 ) s

=> 100 = 20s

=> s = 5 m

2) = How much time will it take to

reach there.

From newton first equation of

kinematics.

=> v = u + at

=> 0 = 10 + (-10) t

=> t = 1 seconds.
