Hey Dear,

◆ Answer -

12 m

◆ Explaination -

Let v be the initial velocity.

When the ball is thrown upwards -

v^2 = u^2 + 2a.s

0^2 = u^2 + 2(-10)(16)

u^2 = √(2×10×16)

u = √320 m/s

When velocity is half of that,

v'^2 = u^2 + 2as'

(√320/2)^2 = (√320)^2 + 2×(-10)×s

s' = (320 - 80) / 20

s' = 12 m

Therefore, velocity will be halved at height of 12 m.

Thanks...
