A ball is thrown straight up with a velocity of 12 m/s; what will be its velocity 2.0 s after being released?

Explanation:

it takes 1.2 s to reach the top and then we have to find the velocity when it was moving down at time 0.8 sec

and by  v = u +at

            v = 0 + 10 * 0.8

             v = 8m/s
