We will use the following kinematic equation :

V² = u² + 2gs

g = 9.8 m/s²

let S1 be displacement upwards.

From the formula we can get S1:

u = 3 m/s

v= 0

g = 9.8 m/s²

0 = 9 - 2 × 9.8 × S1

S1 = 9 / 19.6 = 0.46 M

total displacement :

50 + 0.46 = 50.45 m

Now we want v :

u = 0 for a freely falling body hence.

V² = 0 + 2 × 9.8 × 50.46

v² = 989.02

v = 31.44 m/s
