A ball is thrown vertically upward from a ground with speed of 40m/sc.It collides with ground after returning. Find the total distance travelled and time taken during its bouncing.

aryanppp: are we projecting it from ground or a tower?

➡️Total distance covered by ball from going max height to ground is '2s'

s- Distance travelled to complete one journey

using \: equation \: of \: motion - \\ {v}^{2} - {u}^{2} = - 2gs \\ - {(40)}^{2} = - 2gs \\ - 160 = 2s \\ s = 80m
➡️Total journey distance–» 80×2=160metres.

Time taken to complete 2s will be twice as for s

so,
v = u - gt \\ 0 = 40 - 10t \\ - 40 = - 10t \\ t = 4sec
Total time taken to reach ground again after launching is\boxed{\red{ 8seconds}}
