Total distance covered by ball from going max height to ground is '2s'

s- Distance travelled to complete one journey

➡️Total journey distance–» 80×2=160metres.

Time taken to complete 2s will be twice as for s

so,

v= u - gt

0= 40 - 10t

-40= -10t

t = 4 seconds

Total time taken to reach ground again after launching is 8 seconds
