HEY DEAR YOUR ANSWER IS HERE ... SEE .....

Explanation :

we know that ,

acceleration due to gravity ,a = -9.8 m/ s^2 ( retardation ) ;

time ,t = 4 sec ;

final velocity ,v = 0 ;

initial velocity ,u = ? ( to be calculated )

we know that ,

a = (v-u) /t

so ,

-9.8 = ( 0-u ) /4

=> -9.8 = -u /4

=> u = -9.8 ×-4

= 39.6 m/sec

hence ,its initial velocity ,u = 39.6 m/sec or 40 m/sec ( if considering a = 10 m/ sec^2 )

hope this helps you dear ...............
