Graph shows the velocity of the ball as a function of time as it goes up and then comes back.

Explanation:

Velocity time (t) graph of a body thrown vertically upwards is created by simply once you perceive the role of gravity within the motion that's occurring.

In the case once the ball goes upwards the direction of rate (v) of the ball and therefore the direction of acceleration of gravity are within the opposite directions therefore the rate of ball can decrease till it reaches the highest and stops momentarily.

Equation,                         v = u - gt

Then from the height position the ball can begin to descend downwardly because of the acceleration because of gravity that's g.

Equation,                           v = - gt

Here, negative sign is because of the motion in downward direction .

Note :

Refer the attached graph for better understanding.

Thus, the graph shows the velocity of the ball as a function of time as it goes up and then comes back.
