Let a ball is thrown vertically upwards with speed u m/s . at maximum height velocity of ball becomes zero.

so, final velocity of ball , v = 0

time taken to reach the maximum height , t = 10s

acceleration due to gravity , g = 10m/s² [downward ]

using formula, v = u + at

0 = u + (-g)t

or, u = gt

= 10m/s² × 10s

= 100 m/s

hence, Initial velocity of ball is 100m/s
