A ball is thrown vertically upwards. It rises to a height of h m in 2.5 s and then comes back to the thrower. Calculate

ii) the time for which it remained in the air.

Explanation:

1. V = U + at

0 = U - 9.8 x 2.5

U = 9.8 x 2.5 m/s

2. T = time of ascent + time of descent

=2.5 +2.5 =5s

3. distance = 2h, displacement= 0
