Mass =0.5kg

Velocity (u)= 10m/s

Maximum height =u²/2g = 100/2×10 =5m.

The potential energy =mgh =0.5×10×5=25J(Ans)

\Large{\underline{\underline{\red{\sf{Answer :}}}}}

\large{\underline{\boxed{\sf{Height \: = \: 5 \: m }}}}

\large{\underline{\underline{\red{\sf{Step-By-Step-Explanation :}}}}}

 \displaystyle {\sf{Given \begin{cases} Mass \:  (m) \: = \: 0.5 \: kg \\\\ Velocity \: (v) \: = \: 10 \: ms^{-1}  \\\\ Gravitational \: force \: (g) \: = \: 10 \: ms^{-2} \end{cases}}}

We have formula for Kinetic energy

\Large \displaystyle{\boxed{\boxed{\sf{K.E \: = \: \frac{1}{2} \: mv^2}}}}

Put Values

\rightarrow {\sf{K.E \: = \: \frac{1}{2} \: (0.5) \: \times \: (10)^2}}

\rightarrow {\sf{K.E \: = \: \frac{1}{\cancel{2}} \: (0.5) (\cancel{100})}}

\rightarrow {\sf{K.E \: = \: (0.5)(50)}}

\implies {\boxed{\boxed{\sf{K.E \: = \: 25 \: J}}}}

In this case Kinetic Energy is equal to Potential Energy

So,

K.E = P.E = 25 J

Formula for Potential Energy is :

\Large{\boxed{\boxed{\sf{P.E \: = \: mgh}}}}

Put Values

\rightarrow {\sf{25 \: = \: (0.5)(10)(h)}}

\rightarrow {\sf{25 \: = \: 5h}}

\rightarrow {\sf{h \: = \: \frac{25}{5}}}

\LARGE{\boxed{\boxed{\red{\sf{h \: = \: 5 \: m}}}}}
