So, W = K2 - K1 = 1/2mv2^2 - 1/2mv1^2

From this it is already proved in the textbooks that

v1 = ((m1-m2/(m1+m2))u1 + (2m2/(m1+m2))u2

and v2 = (2m1/(m1+m2))u1 + ((m2-m1)/(m1+m2))u2

Putting the required values, we'll get,

v1 = ((10-5)/(10+5))x10 + (2x5/(10+5))x4

= 10/3 + 8/3 = 6m/s
