A ball of mass 3kg, moving with a speed of 100 m/s, strikes horizontally a wall
at an angle 60.as shown. The ball rebounded at the same speed and remains
in contact with the wall for 0.2 sec. The force exerted by the ball on the wall is:
(Take g = 10 m/s^2)
(A) 1500 3N
(B) 1500 N
(C) 300 3N
(D) 300 N

Answer:

Initial momentum = (m × u × cosA) î + (m × u × sinA) j

change in momentum = final momentum - initial momentum = 2mucosA

Here, A is 60 × 60 = 120

F = change in momentum/ time

F = 2 × 3 × 100 × cos120 / 0.2

F = 300 / 0.2

F = 1500 3N

So, answer is A) 1500 3N
