the ball rolled with a speed 's' travels smaller distance on a rough road as compared to a smooth surfaced road as..rough road provide friction to the ball which makes it harder for the ball to move on further and it eventually at some point, ( when friction overcome it's inertia) stops. on the other hand, smooth surface provides less friction due to which the ball goes on rolling.
