Given : A ball thrown in air attains 100m height and cover horizontal distance of 150m

To Find : Speed and angle of the ball thrown

Solution:

Let say after T min ball reaches it  max height

Velocity = V angle = α

Vsinα  = gT

=> T = Vsinα/g

V² = 2 g(100)

=>  V²sin²α = 200g  Eq1

Vcosα *  2T   = 150

=> Vcosα *  2Vsinα/g = 150

=> V² SinαCosα = 75g   Eq2

Eq1/Eq2

=> tanα = 8/3

=> α =69.444°

cosα = 1/√(1 + (8/3)²    = 3/√73

Sin α = 8/√73

Sin ²α = 64/ 73

V²sin²α = 200g

=> V² = 200g * 73/64

=> V ≈ 47.5 m/s

at angle 69.444°

Path will be parabola

Parabolic equation is (x-75)² = -56.25 (y-100)
