  • S = ut + 1/2at^2
  • 0 = 10 × t - 1/2 × 10 × t^2
  • 10t = 5t^2
  • 5t = 10
  • t = 2

Time required for ball to reach max height,

v = ut - (1/2)gt^2

0 = 10×t - (1/2) × 9.8 × t^2

10t = 4.9t^2

t = 2 s

Time required for ball to reach ground will be same as to reach top.

Therefore, stone will reach ground after 2×2 = 4 s.
