dude the top answer is wrong ... he has taken distance as displacement ... displacement is the shortest length between any two points so as the ball comes back to its original position, the displacement is 0 m.

thus, av. V = total displacement / total time

= 0 m / 1 s (time = t = second (s) since it says that it comes back and not just takes *insert amount of time* to reach that height ... , I guess. )

= 0 m s-¹
