a ball was dropped from a height 40m from the ground. after reaching the ground it bounces back in the same path up to a height of 30m. What is the total distance travelled and net displacement of of the ball.

Displacement is shortest path from initial to filnal position and distance is the total length from initial to final position.

So the displacement would we 10m cuz it was dropped from 40m and bounces back to 30m.

And the distance would be 40+30= 70m (total path length).
