Use formula

s = (\frac{1}{2}a)(t^2)

a- acceleration

t- time

Plug in numbers

(1/2 * 9.8)(t^2) = 45

9.8 * 1.2 = 4.9

4.9t^2 = 45

45/4.9= 9.1836

t^2= 9.1836

Square both sides

\sqrt{t^2}=t

\sqrt{9.1836} = 3.03

t= 3.03

Answer

It will take 3 seconds for the ball to hit the ground.
