Solid objects have a definite shape and they cannot be altered without a physical or chemical reaction.

A balloon is not solid but elastic and therefore the molecules present in the balloon are elastic or flexible in nature.

So when the air is blown into a balloon, being a gas it takes up space inside the balloon and therefore the molecules are stretched and given the shape as per the balloon’s design.

Answer:Solids have definite shape and gases take shape of the container in which they are kept. A balloon, a stretchable solid like rubber can change its shape on applying force. So the balloon may burst which air is blowed in it very much, may blow when air is blowed and may retain its shape when air is blowed in.
