Given:-

  • Uniform velocity , u = -1m/s

  • Time taken , t = 4s

  • Acceleration due to gravity,g= 10m/s²

To Find:-

  • Time taken by the body to reach the ground.

Solution:-

Here we have given that the speed of ball is uniform.

∴ Height attained by ball ,h = 4×1 = 4m

Now , Using 2nd equation of motion

h = ut +1/2g

Substitute the value we get

→ 4 = (-1) ×t + 1/2×10×t²

→ 4 = -t + 5t²

→ 5t² - t = 4

→ 5t² -t -4 = 0

→ (5t + 4) (t -1) = 0

By solving this we get

→ t = 1s

The Time taken by the body to reach the ground is 1 second.
