A balloon is moving upward with a constant velocity of 5 m/s. A stone is dropped from it. If at the moment of dropping the stone the balloon is at height of 50 metre then when the stone will hit the ground at that time the height of the balloon will be? (g=10m/s^2)

Answer:

The stone is falling downwards from 50 meter . so it is negative.

The initial velocity is 5m/s is upwards .so it is positive

Then:-

u=5m/s

s=-50

using kinematics equations

s=ut+1/2at^2

Then.for velocity can be calculated by using conservation of energy:-

1/2×m×v^2=m×g×h

thank you
