Answer:

When the balloon and the pen refill are brought close they attract each other.

When the balloon is rubbed with wool and the refill with polythene they become electrically charged. The balloon has negative charge and the refill has positive charge. Hence they will attract each other.

Explanation:

It is a convention to call the charge acquired by a glass rod when it is rubbed with silk as positive. The other kind of charge is said to be negative.

When a  balloon is rubbed with wool and a pen refill is rubbed with polythene both becomes charged and they tend to attract each other .

Explanation:

Friction : It is rubbing of two surfaces .

Rubbing of two bodies can be make them charged .

There are 2 different types of charges :

  • Positive charge
  • Negative charge

It is to be noted that same charges attract an opposite charges repel .

The wool and pen gets charged :

wool acquires +ve charge and pen acquires -ve charge , that is the reason they attract each other .
