mass of equipment that can be carried when operating in air of density 1.25 kg/m³ is 2150 kg.

volume of balloon = 2000m³

balloon is filled with hydrogen of density 0.09 kg/m³ .

so, mass of hydrogen = density of hydrogen × volume of balloon

= 0.09 × 2000 = 180 kg

mass of the fabric = 100kg

mass of the pilot = 70kg

Let mass of equipment that can be carried is x kg

so, total mass of system = 180kg + 100kg + 70kg + x = (350 + x) kg

now, final density of system = 1.25 kg/m³

so, final mass of system of balloon = final density × volume of balloon

= 1.25 × 2000 = 2500 kg

now, 2500 kg = total mass of system

⇒25000 kg = (350 + x)kg

⇒x = 2150 kg

volume of balloon = 2000m³

balloon is filled with hydrogen of density 0.09 kg/m³ .

so, mass of hydrogen = density of hydrogen × volume of balloon

= 0.09 × 2000 = 180 kg

mass of the fabric = 100kg

mass of the pilot = 70kg

Let mass of equipment that can be carried is x kg

so, total mass of system = 180kg + 100kg + 70kg + x = (350 + x) kg

now, final density of system = 1.25 kg/m³

so, final mass of system of balloon = final density × volume of balloon

= 1.25 × 2000 = 2500 kg

now, 2500 kg = total mass of system

⇒25000 kg = (350 + x)kg

⇒x = 2150 kg
