A balloon rises vertically upward with a constant
velocity of 30 m/s. When the balloon is at a height
of 80 m, a stone is dropped from it. The time taken
by stone to reach the ground is (Take g = 10 ms?)
(1) 4s
(2) as
(3) 5/2s
(4) 325

ANSWER....

initial \: velocity \: of \: ball = 30m {sec}^{ - 1} \\ \\ v = u - at \\ \\ 0 = 30 - 10(t) \\ \\ t = 3sec.....(1) \\ \\ distance \: travelled \: in \: these \: three \\ seconds \\ \\ s = ut - \frac{1}{2} g {t}^{2} \\ \\ s = 30(3) - \frac{1}{2} 10( {3})^{2} \\ \\ s = 90 - 45 \\ \\ s = 45m \\ \\ total \: distance = (80 + 45)m \\ \\ total \: distance = 125m \\ \\ s = ut - \frac{1}{2} g {t}^{2} \\ \\ 125 = 0(t) - \frac{1}{2} (10) {t}^{2} \\ \\ 125 = \frac{1}{2}( 10) {t}^{2} \\ \\ 250 = 10 {t}^{2} \\ \\ 25 = {t}^{2} \\ \\ t = 5sec.....(2) \\ \\ total \: time = (1) + (2) \\ \\ total \: time = 8sec \\
