A bar 300 mm long is 50 mm diameter for 120 mm of its length; 30 mm diameter
for the next 100 mm length and 40 mm diameter for the remaining length
shown in Figure. It is subjected to a tensile load of 100 kN. Calculate the
maximum and minimum stresses produced in it and the total elongation. Take
E = 2 x 10^5N/mm^2.

[Ans. max stress= 141.54 N/mm²,
min stress=50.95 N/mm^2
change in length= 0.133 mm]

I am new to Brainly, I want the answer for this question. Please solve it, I will be very thankful to you. I also gave the answer. But I should know the method of solving this type of problems.
