A bar magnet has no markings to indicate it's poles. How would you find out near which end is it's north pole located?

by putting a another magnets both poles near this

by checking it with an another bar magnet in which both poles are indicated
if south pole is attracted towards any pole of the undefined magnet then the undefined pole will be a north pole
