B ∝ L

B = magnetic field .

L = length .


By this statement we mean :

Ф If we increase the length then the magnetic field would increase .

Ф If we decrease the length then the magnetic field would decrease.


Coming back to your question :

The magnet was cut into 4 equal pieces .

Then the magnetic field would obviously decrease.


The new magnetic field strength will become one - fourth of the original magnetic field strength.
