Magnetic moment (M) = mL

here, m is pole strength and L is length of bar magnet

so , upon cutting a bar magnet into two equal halves of same length

then, new length is L/2

there is no change in the value of m as pole strength depends on material only....which is same

so , new magnetic moment will be half of its original value....
