A baseball and a bat cost $1.10 together. the bat costs one dollar more than the ball. how much does the ball cost?

Cost of bat and ball=$1.10

Let assume cost of ball=x - - - - - - 1

Then
Cost of bat=x+1 - - - - - - 2

From equation 1 and 2 we get

X+x+1=$1.10

2x+1=$1.10

2x=$0.10

X=$0.10/2

X=$0.05

Cost of ball=$0. 05
