We can choose a pair of mangoes in 50×40=2000 ways.

The first basket has 50 - 20 = 30 ripe mangoes.

The second basket has 40 - 15 = 25 ripe mangoes.

Each ripe mango from the first basket paired with a ripe mango from the second gives  30×25=750 pairs.

So, the probability of both being ripe = 7502000=38.
