A basket contains apples and oranges in the ratio 2 : x respectively. If we take out 4 apples from the basket then the respective ratio becomes 10 : 17 and if we take out 3 oranges instead of 4 apples then the respective ratio becomes 17 : 24 respectively. Find the total number of oranges and apples initially in the basket.

a:o = 2:x

a-4:o =10:17

o = 1.7 ×(a-4)

a:o-3 = 17:24

a: (1.7a-6.8-3) = 17:24

1.7 - 9.8/a = 1 + 7/17

7/10 -7/17 =9.8/a

a=34

0 = 51

a:o =34: 51 = 2:3
