Answer:

Area of the spectator gallery =530 m^2

The cost of making that gallery @ Rs. 5.25 per square metre = Rs. 2,782.50.

Step-by-step explanation:

A basketball ground is 28 m long and 15 m wide.

Therefore, it's area is (28).(15) m^2.

A 5 m wide gallery has to be built on all its sides of the ground.

Therefore, including the gallery, the length and breadth of the ground will be twice the width of gallery more than those of the ground itself.

Therefore, Length of ground including gallery will be (28+2x5) m = 38 m

And Breadth of ground including gallery will be (15+2x5) m = 25 m

Area of the spectator gallery = Area of the ground including the gallery - Area of the ground itself.

=(38).(25) m^2 - (28).(15) m^2 = (2).(5)[(19).(5) - (14).(3)] m^2= 10(95 - 42) m^2= (10).(53) m^2 = 530 m^2

The cost of making that gallery @ Rs. 5.25 per square metre:

= Rs. 530x5.25 = Rs. 2,782.50
