Given:-

  • A batsman hits some four's , singles and takes some singles in a cricket match.
  • The number of singles made by the batsman is three times the number of 4's .
  • The number of Six's in the match is one more than 4's .
  • The batsman scored a total to 84 runs .
  • The number of 4's is represented by x .

To Find:-

  • The linear equⁿ for the given situation.

Solution:-

Given that number of 4's hit must be represented by x.

So ,

➥ Number of singles = 3 times the number of 4's = 3x.

➥ Number of sixes = One more than no.of 4's = x +1.

Now ,

➤ Runs made by hitting fours = 4 × x = 4x .

➤ Runs made by singles = 1 × 3x = 3x .

➤ Runs made by sixes = 6 × ( x + 1 ) = 6x + 6.

➳ Total runs made = 4x + 3x + 6x + 6 = 13x + 6 .

And this equals to 84 runs , So the required equⁿ will be :-

\large {\underline{\boxed{\bf\red{\dag } 13x\:\:+\:\:6 \:\:=\:\:84 \red{\dag} }}}
