A batch reactor was operated in the bioprocess lab for the production of viral vaccine through
recombinant bacteria. The initial substrate, biomass, and product concentration is 15 g/L, 0.2
g/L and 0.0006 g/L respectively. The maximum specific growth rate of the organism is 0.128
h-1 and its saturation constant is 0.01 g/L. It is observed that substrate is completely
converted to biomass and product equally. Using simulation study, calculates the optimal time
for getting maximum biomass and product. The product formation kinetics follows , where
alpha and beta are 0.068 and 0.79 respectively. Assume suitable data where ever necessary.
