\textbf{Answer}

Lets suppose that the average of a batsman after 17th innings is x runs per match.

So total runs made by the batsman after the end of 17th inning = 17x

Since batsman makes 150 runs in his 18th inning,
=> Total runs made by batsman after the end of 18th inning = (17x + 150)

Since average of the batsman increases by 6 after the end of 18th inning,
=> Average of the batsman after the end of 18th inning = (17x + 150)/18 runs per match.

Since average increases by 6 after the end of 18th inning,
=> Average after 18th inning = (x + 6)

=> (17x + 150)/18 = (x + 6)

=> 17x + 150 = 18x + 108

=> 18x - 17x = 150 - 108

=> x = 42

So the average after 17th inning = 42 runs per match.

And the average after 18th inning = x+6 = 42+6 = 48 runs per match

So the required average is 48 runs per match.
